It is the story of Bobby Child, a well-to-do 1930s playboy whose dream is to be a dancer. But Bobby is forced into his family banking business and is sent to close the Gaiety Theatre in the small town of Deadrock, Nevada.

When Bobby falls in love with Polly Baker, daughter of the Gaiety's owner, he is forced to think twice about the bank's plans. Perhaps there's a way that he can save the theatre – and win Polly's heart too?
