The Joy Of Making
The Joy of Making is a celebration of traditional hand making processes explored through objects from the collection. Intricate baskets are shown alongside colourful Polish folk paper cut designs, needlework samplers, dolls and toys.
Alongside objects from Wolverhampton’s collection is craftwork created by local people.
Items from the collection have been used to help promote a sense of wellbeing. Wooden toys, handmade felt and rag rug samples are shown within the exhibition.
Artist Helen Snell has created a new artwork for the exhibition consisting of around 50 laser cut paper vessels, The vivid colours of the vessels capture the vitality of the Polish folk art designs shown in the exhibition.
