Chic Point: Fashion for Israeli Checkpoints

In Chic Point: Fashion for Israeli Checkpoints, Palestinian artist Sharif Waked presents a glamorous fashion show, but with uniquely designed clothes featuring woven-in holes, gaps and splits. They are made to meet the daily demands of the checkpoint soldiers, who require Palestinians to demonstrate that they are not carrying explosives or weapons.

This film has been acquired recently as part of a joint collecting initiative with IWM (Imperial War Museum) to collect art that reflects on the conflict in Israel and Palestine. The collection has been funded by the Art Fund Renew scheme.
