Windsor Festival: Public Passions
Most famous as the author of the His Dark Materials trilogy and winner of the Carnegie Medal and the Whitbread Book of the Year Award, Philip Pullman will be in conversation with author and broadcaster Paul Blezard revealing a life’s memories and the music which has interested and inspired him.
Pullman’s favourite pieces include works by Monteverdi, Shostakovich, Beethoven and Duke Ellington. Conducted by John Lubbock, the renowned Orchestra of St John’s will bring these to life, aided by the musical talents of young singers Hannah Davey and Pablo Strong, and pianists Maki Sekiya and Ilya Chetverikov.
