Fiori Musicali - Italian Baroque Concertos: Fiori Musicali
Fiori Musicali’s new season at The Castle celebrates the Italian baroque concerto. Invented in late 17th-century Italy, the instrumental concerto quickly became the ideal way for soloists to show off their virtuosity.
Vivaldi and Albinoni led the field with spectacular works for soloists and orchestra, and soon the Italian concerto was influencing all Europe.
Fiori Musicali
Founded in 1983 by director Penelope Rapson, Fiori Musicali specialise in authentic performances of 17th & 18th century music. They appear in many formats - as a choir, small chamber ensemble and chamber orchestra.
