Tonight in London

Last updated: Thursday, 7 July 2005, 15:00.
Several forthcoming London gigs have been cancelled in the wake of this morning’s explosions in the capital. The blasts, which are believed to be the result of a terrorist attack, took place at three points on the London Underground, as well as on a double-decker bus.

Artists who have been forced to pull out of shows include Nate James, who was due to play at Shepherd’s Bush Empire (rescheduled to 5th August), and the Prodigy who will now play the Brixton Academy on Sunday 7th August. Love at the Islington Academy has been rescheduled to 14th July. Original tickets for these shows remain valid and refunds are available from the point of purchase.

Blue have cancelled their gig at Wembley tonight but plan to play on the 8th and 9th July as planned. Ticket holders for tonight's gig will be able to exchange their ticket for one of the other two shows at the Wembley Box Office.

Sum 41 and El Presidente have had to cancel gigs, at the Astoria and The Underbelly in Hoxton respectively. Queens Of The Stone Age will no longer being playing at Koko tonight and Somerset House will make an announcement by four o’clock today about whether the Queens of the Stone Age gigs at their venue will be going ahead or not.

It remains to be seen whether Queen will go ahead with a proposed concert at Hyde Park, but fans of the band have been urged not to phone the Queen press office, since it is already flooded with calls.

Ents24 has also been informed that tonight's gigs at the Mean Fiddler, The Garage, Upstairs at the Garage, Water Rats Theatre, The Betsey Trotwood and The Marquee have all been cancelled.

Anyone planning to attend an event in London tonight is strongly advised to check with the venue first that it's still going ahead. Bookmark and Share
