Richard Harris' Stepping Out is celebrating its 25th anniversary revival this year, launching at the Leatherhead Theatre where it was first performed back in 1984. Starring Jessie Wallace, Brian Capron and Rosemary Ashe, Stepping Out tells the story of an amateur tap dancing troupe led by an ex-professional dancer in a dusty church hall who dance as if no one is watching, and hoping no one ever will. That is, until they're invited to perform at a charity gala. As disbelief is replaced by sheer terror, can this bunch of amateurs pull together and put on the performance of a lifetime? The tour opens on September 8th at Leatherhead Theatre, then visits Glasgow, Stoke-on-Trent, Preston, Manchester, Norwich, Torquay, Bromley, Eastbourne and ''Jersey on it's 12-week run. The new production is directed by Richard Baron and produced by FMH Productions in association with the Leatherhead Theatre, Henry Filloux-Bennett and Stephen Makin. | ![]() Brian Capron, Jessie Wallace & Rosemary Ashe in Stepping Out |
