Noel Gallagher confirmed last night that he has left Oasis. He wrote on the band's website, "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis".
He went on to explain that he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer".
The news comes after the band cancelled their gig at the Rock en Seine Festival in Paris - their second within a week. Support act, Bloc Party announced to a stunned crowd that Oasis would not be performing, but many assumed that they were joking until an official announcement appeared on the video screens.
The Gallagher brothers have fallen out several times before, but there have been signs recently that their relationship has completely broken down, and many fans now think that it's unlikely that the band will re-form.
