Battles
Ticket-holders for this weekend's Wild In The Country have been dealt yet another blow, with Battles' record company confirming that they too have pulled out of the event.
The news comes just a day after Icelandic singer Bjork withdrew her headlining appearance. Many have speculated that Soulwax may also cancel, although this is yet to be confirmed.
A message was posted yesterday on Bjork's official website stating:
'As a result of significant problems with the event, including its staging, sound and lighting it is no longer possible for her to perform.'
However, organisers Renaissance have said that:
'Contrary to what has been suggested, we have diligently provided all production requirements for all of the other acts appearing on this years line-up.'
The one-day festival is still due to take place this weekend on Saturday 5th July at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire. No official information has surfaced concerning ticket-holders requiring refunds; contact your point of purchase for more information.
*Please note that since this article was published, Warp have retracted the statement on their website. We are currently waiting for confirmation as to whether or not Battles will be performing. Please keep checking back for updates.
