THE ROALD DAHL MUSEUM & STORY CENTRE, Great Missenden

Situated in the village where legendary author Roald Dahl lived and wrote for 36 years, the Museum was created as a home for the author's unique archive and to inspire a love of stories and creative writing in all of their visitors. The museum holds numerous workshops to keep the kids, and adults alike, creatively entertained in the world of Roald Dahl's masterful creations.

Workshops are at an extra cost and need to be booked in advance.

CAMERA OBSCURA & WORLD OF ILLUSIONS, Edinburgh

Where seeing is not believing! Scoop people up and hold them in the palm of your hand. Catch your shadow, shake hands with your ghost, walk on water and reveal the monkey in you with the morphing machine. See amazing optical illusions with endless hands-on fun!

THINKTANK BIRMINGHAM SCIENCE MUSEUM, Birmingham

Thinktank is Birmingham's museum and science attraction. It examines the past, investigates the present and explores what the future may bring. Thinktank's job is to help us all understand how science and technology shape our lives. This summer, the museum is home to the 'BBC Walking With Dinosaurs Exhibition', which explores the science and technology behind the award-winning TV series and will allow Thinktank visitors to walk with dinosaurs.

EUREKA! THE NATIONAL CHILDREN'S MUSEUM, Halifax

Eureka! is the UK's National Children's Museum, a place where children play to learn and grown-ups learn to play.
