Glastonbury Festival
Glastonbury's Emily Eavis has launched a new night at London's Social, to try and find new talent for next year's festival.
The Holy Cow night will be a regular event showcasing unsigned and up and coming talent, with the most impressive being asked to play at the legendary festival.
Speaking to the BBC about the venture, Emily said:
'As a festival, we would really like to lead the way in new music...The aim is to collect as many new bands as possible throughout the year and build up a strong roster of new acts...We've had some brilliant debut sets throughout the years, where bands start at Glastonbury on a very small stage and end up playing the Pyramid in a few years.'
The first Holy Cow night will take place tonight, Wednesday 24th October, and will feature The Envy Corps, Vampire Weekend and The Brightlights.
Next year's Glastonbury will take place between the 27th and 29th June 2008. For more information about the Holy Cow nights, including how to play, see their website here.
