Australian national treasures Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson are going on a nationwide UK tour for the first time in 28 years. The show, entitle Last Night Of The Poms, has been written as a parody on the Proms and is a collaboration between Barry Humphries CBE - the creator of Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson - and Carl Davies CBE, who has composed all of the music for the show. Carl Davis CBE will be conducting the orchestras that will be the back-drop to all of Dame Edna Everage and Sir Les Patterson's performances. The Orchestra of the Scottish Opera, The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra will be joined by a 60 piece choir for each show. The tour will be visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Brighton, Birmingham, Sheffield, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Belfast, Liverpool and Nottingham throughout September 2009. Tickets for the tour are on sale from 10:00am, this Friday 23rd January and will be available here (except Belfast - on sale from Thursday 29th January).
