The ceremony will be held on Thursday 18th September at the Brixton Academy, London. Fans wishing to attend can win exclusive tickets by visiting www.vodafonemusic.co.uk.

While you'll have to wait until then to find out the winners, it's also been announced that rock veteran Iggy Pop will be awarded the Freddie Mercury Lifetime Achievement Award.

The awards will also be broadcast on Channel 4. For more details, see www.vodafonemusic.co.uk.

Update: 10:00am Friday 8th August 2008.

Since Iron Maiden have asked to be removed from the Best Live Return category, James will now replace them on the shortlist. See our story here for more details.
