Adele
London singer Adele has topped the BBC's Sound of 2008 Poll, after being chosen by almost 150 of the UK's most knowledgeable and influential music critics, editors and broadcasters.
Adele, who went to London's BRIT School of Performing Arts, first found an audience on MySpace and has recently performed on Later...with Jools Holland and Friday Night with Jonathon Ross.
'Adele's voice melted our hearts when we first heard her and we had to have her on the show...', said Alison Howe, producer of Later.

Foals
Welsh soul singer Duffy came in at number two, while boy-girl duo The Ting Tings came in at number three. Glasvegas took the number four spot while Foals and Vampire Weekend were at numbers five and six respectively.
The hotly tipped Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong were voted in at number seven, Black Kids at number eight, MGMT at number nine and Santogold at number ten.
Other acts who were given nods towards success in 2008 included Ida Maria, One Night Only, Laura Marling, Cajun Dance Party, Late Of The Pier and Black Mountain.
