The Shawshank Redemption

A story of courage, hope and friendship, The Shawshank Redemption centres on Andy Dufresne, convicted of murdering his wife and her lover and given two life sentences to serve in the notorious Shawshank Prison. Forced to endure a spirit-crushing regime, Andy's inner strength and courage never let him give up hope. Best known as the Oscar nominated 1994 film starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, the stage version, adapted by Gaiety Theatre Dublin, stars American actors Kevin Anderson and Reg E Cathey, both of whom have appeared on Broadway, while Anderson was previously seen in the West End in the premiere production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard in 1993.
