The Road 
The Road is a post-apocalyptic movie based on the novel of the same name written by Cormac McCarthy. The film stars Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee as a father and his son in a journey toward the coast across a barren landscape more than ten years since the world was destroyed. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape - there is no energy, no power, no vegetation and no food. It is cold enough to crack stones, and the sky is always dark. Armed only with a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless gangs that stalk the road, they know not what - if anything - awaits them at the end of their trek. In this dark universe, they must rely on each other for survival.
