Inglourious Basterds 
Well over a decade in the making, Tarantino's latest bloodsoaked epic takes on World War 2. The Basterds are a team of Jewish-American soldiers led by Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) and picked for the task of spreading fear in the Third Reich - specifically by brutally murdering groups of Nazis, leaving one alive to tell the tale. Meanwhile, Shosanna Dreyfus (Melanie Laurent), a teenage Jewish-French woman, witnesses her family's brutal murder by Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) and is bent on avenging their deaths. Their paths converge in this wartime Spaghetti Western narrated by Tarantino regular Samuel L. Jackson and, as is typical of the director, the movie is a game of spot-the-reference.
