Public Enemies
Public Enemies is based on the story of the charismatic bank robber John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and the man sent to capture him, Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale). Adapted from a book by Bryan Burrough, the film follows Dillinger as he becomes a media sensation and the first Public Enemy Number One of J. Edgar Hoover's fledgling FBI. From wild chases to explosive shootouts, Public Enemies is a well-scripted and well-acted film that has you on the edge of your seat as Melvin Purvis attempts to close in on Dillinger. If you are a fan of gangster flicks, you can't miss this one. Michael Mann directs an all-star cast of Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Marion Cotillard as Dillinger's girlfriend Billie Frechette. The support cast is impressive too, with Giovanni Ribisi, Billy Crudup, and Stephen Dorff all making appearances.
