The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas
Based on the best-selling novel by John Boyne, The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas tells the story of two boys, united in friendship but torn apart by war. World War II has just broken out and eight-year-old Bruno (Asa Butterfield), the son of a Nazi commandant, is sent to the countryside to sit out the war. Whilst exploring the surrounding area, Bruno stumbles across a concentration camp and befriends Schmuel (Jack Scanlon), a Jewish boy imprisoned within. As their friendship grows, albeit through a barbed wire fence, the war around them escalates and their fragile relationship becomes more and more dangerous. A heartbreaking drama outlining the senselessness of war, with David Thewlis, Vera Farmiga, Rupert Friend and Richard Johnson.
