Lou Reed's Berlin
In 1973, Lou Reed recorded Berlin - a commercial failure deemed as the most miserable album in history. Over the next thirty-three years, he refused to perform the album live, until December 2006, when at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn, he performed his lost masterpiece over five sell-out nights. Directed by Julian Schnabel, the film captures Reed's unmissable performance, staged against Lola Schnabel's visual interpretation of the album's central character, the tragic yet beautiful Caroline. With guest performances from Steve Hunter, Rob Wassermann, Rupert Christie and more.
