Based on the classic Japanese anime series, Speedracer follows the story of Speed (Emile Hirsch) as he attempts to win The Crucible - a treacherous cross-country race - with the support of girlfriend Trixie (Christina Ricci) and dad Pop Racer (John Goodman), the designer of his unbeatable Mach 5. Determined to fulfil the legacy of his brother, the legendary Rex Racer, Speed must overcome a deadly plot against him in order to win the race, preserve his brother's memory and save his family's business.
