Birdeatsbaby
Bird Eats Baby is a young band from Brighton that have a dark cabaret feel about them. They boast a string section, a lack of guitars and are led by pianist/singer Mishkin. They claim to have been influenced by the likes of Dresden Dolls, Tiger Lilies, DeVotchka and Regina Spektor, but if you can imagine Freddie Mercury getting drunk on Absinthe with Van Gogh (after the ear incident) at the Moulin Rouge you won't be far off.
Joe Black
A unique piano and accordion fronted musical assault, combining a catchy heavy stomp of the foot with the voice equivalent of a blow to the senses, leading you into pounding polkas and whimsical waltzes. It is show tunes for the alternative inclined, the all stomping, all growling, neo vaudevillian that is Joe Black.
Gabby Young & Other Animals
Gabby Young is a flame haired force of nature and queen of the Moulin Rouge-tinted Jazz scene, telling other-worldly tales from heart wrenchers to jazzy belters. Gabby Young and Other Animals offer us a magical musical fairground of gypsy folk, pop, rock, cabaret with an explosion of Balkan brass and jazz, all of which produce a cocktail of genres what has been affectionately dubbed 'Circus Swing'. Their raucous live shows and handsome stage design have had tongues wagging and feet stomping across Britain for some time as well as major festivals and shows across the continent, USA and Japan.
