A group of neighbours fight, against the odds, to re-build their lives, relationships, and the city of their birth in a Britain bankrupt by two world wars. The story is told with humour and song by some of the regions most loved actors and a star of the West End theatre.

Don MacLean

One of the best known comedians on TV and radio who claims to have left school with '7 '0' levels, 2 spirit levels and a girl's bike.' Don has appeared in six Royal Command Shows, his recent 30th anniversary in show business was marked with an award from the Variety Club, and he was made an MBE in the 2001 New Year's honours list. TV and radio have both played a major part in Don's career from Crackerjack through Celebrity Squares to his current Radio 2 show Good Morning Sunday which he is still presenting after 12 years on the air.
