This event has passedApproachable swinging jazz from the 50s to the 90s in the John Coltrane mould. Formed in 1995 with only one personnel change since, and playing together for enjoyment every week, Cousin Mary is a tight outfit with strong group empathy. Don't be fooled by the reference to Coltrane's cousin: they have built a repertoire from a diverse collection of modern jazz composers, and like to feature some less often heard numbers, within a broadly straight-ahead idiom.
