'Conscious rudeboy ska' outfit The King Blues began life as a duo, expanding to a sextet and signing to Field Recordings by 2007. The band take a raw, punk attitude to ska, with autobiographical songs and 'a commitment to politics and resistance'.

The Laurel Collective

The Laurel Collective

The Laurel Collective are producer/writer duo who have now expanded to become an eight piece band. They have collaborated with artists such as Mandy Senior (mainly known for her work with Basement Jaxx) and, due to there diverse influences, have developed a sound that can be described as an interesting fusion of Pavement, Red Snapper, Beck, The Flaming Lips, Schneider T.M. etc. The Laurel Collective want to continue the gene of non-genre specific music, with its interesting lyrics, weird cultural references and experimental songwriting.
