The distinguised oboist, conductor and composer Heinz Holliger joins Northern Sinfonia to perform Richard Strauss' exquisite Oboe Concerto. Holliger starts on the podium with Webern's magical miniature Five Pieces. The ever popular Italian Symphony of Mendelssohn full of all the Mediterranean colour and excitement of Italian Life. Finally this is a rare opportunity to hear Schumann's extraordinary work for four horns and orchestra.
