As part of the mid-nineties Britpop phenomenon, Ash always stood out as the rebels of the genre, making grungy post-rock and anthemic indie, which, to this day, has gained them rave reviews and a strong and loyal following.

The Panama Kings come flying out of Belfast with AU music mag describing them as 'leading the charge of Northern Ireland music'. As we come into 2009 there is a buzzing scene in NI and Panama Kings are there are the forefront. They might be described as a guitar band but these four boys are much much more, able to employ electronica and experimental sounds alongside their guitars with ease. Even though the band is little over 12 months old, their song 'Children' was voted one of the best songs out of NI in the last five years by the readers of AU magazine at the end of 2008. 2009 looks like it might be their year.
