One of the great pioneers of fashion photography, Norman Parkinson is famous for redefining glamour in fashion as something far more spontaneous and modern than it had ever been before him. Norman Parkinson: A Very British Glamour, published in October 2009, is a lavish portrait of his long career from the 1930s through the 1980s. To celebrate the publication a selection of portraits from the Norman Parkinson archive will be displayed at Somerset House.
