Hailing from Sheffield, the quintet bonded many years ago over a shared love of Minnie Riperton, Micheal Jackson, Slayer and martial arts (they met at karate lesson in their local Nether Edge). After their former incarnation (Fierce Panda-signed ThisGIRL) came to its natural demise, the then four-piece recruited keyboardist Matt Jones and Skeletons And The Empty Pockets was born. There's an underlying pop sensibility to these three-minute tracks and yet they are clearly inspired by the bluesy rock 'n' rollbands of yesteryear.
