Cat Stevens rose quickly to stardom as a young man, selling several triple-platinum albums before his conversion to Islam. As Yusuf Islam, he left the world of pop music to pursue philanthropy and an image as a 'man of peace' that occasionally became tarnished with controversy. Since the 1990s, Cat Stevens has seen a gradual return to music whilst continuing his humanitarian work.
