The legendary Sunday Joint plays host to some of the greatest jazz, Latin, funk & salsa bands. Serving up a blend of home cooked food between 12 noon & 4.00pm, The Sunday Joint also features 3 live bands every week – one through lunch, another between 5pm & 6pm and the evening session band appearing onstage at 10.30pm – alongside resident DJs from New Bohemia and First Word Records who play Soul, Funk & Hip Hop into the early hours! Mankala

Mankala is a 5-piece multicultural band playing rhythmic and energetic original music with lots of African, Caribbean and Latin elements. The band brings together musicians from diverse places such as Martinica and Trinidad, Zambia, Canary Islands and England. With a fresh uplifting and rhythmic sound, inflected with a variety of eclectic styles such as zouk, calypso, soca, reggae, a touch of afro-beat and a hint of salsa, Mankala is definitively a live band that will get the party started. African grooves and Latin-funk add up to a night to remember.
