A former mk Ultra member, John found fame with the claim that Microsoft had threatened him with legal action over his single 'Bill Gates Must Die'. Having founded Tiny Telephone (the last all-analog recording studio in San Francisco Bay), Vanderslice's music reflects this faithfulness to old methods of recording and producing sound, which are reputed to have lent his infectiously melodic albums a sense of richness that is rarely found elsewhere.
