Happy Jack follows the story of Jack, a man, a miner, father, conman, lover, brawler and comedian. The scenes depict the drama of ordinary life and contain a mixture of humour, sadness and familiarity. It chronicles the lives of playwright, John Godber's grandparents and is based on a combination of facts and stories told in his own house.
