The Waltz King is a picturesque presentation of Viennese life through the eyes of the Strauss Family, incorporating some of Strauss’ famous Waltz’s and Polkas, with dramatic scenes and musical excerpts from operettas such as Die Fledemaus, Gypsy Baron and others. The Waltz King chronicles one of the most enduring musical dynasties ever and presents a tempestuous tale of rivalry between father and family taking on the exalted title of 'The Waltz King'. This musical production starts with the young Johann aged 18, defying his fathers wishes to establish his own musical ensemble. It also deals with the tragic death of his mother and subsequent premature death of his younger brother Josef. Two decades later Johann was the toast of three continents!
