Event Info

At Churchill Theatre, Bromley
Fri 25 Sep - Sat 26 Sep 2009
From 7:45pm

The lives of Lawyer Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and artist Melissa Gardner have been entwined since they met in second grade. Love Letters brings to life their correspondence over fifty years, chronicling hopes, dreams and disappointments; from teenage valentines to the letters and postcards that mark the trials of adulthood, marriage and divorce, right up to a still separated middle age. The story of their bittersweet relationship gradually unfolds from what was written, what is between the lines – and what was left unsaid. From its premiere in 1989, Love Letters has had Broadway’s top stars, including Mel Gibson and Kathleen Turner, clamouring for its leading roles. In this production theatre’s top husband and wife team – Edward Woodward and Michelle Dotrice - star as Andrew and Melissa. Who would have thought other peoples’ letters could be so enthralling!
