Stackridge

Stackridge

Stackridge have the distinction of having opened and closed the very first Glastonbury and as the title of their new album 'A Victory For Common Sense' attests the resurrection of the original line up is a cause for celebration for fans, old and new. Andy Davis, James Warren, 'Mutter' Slater and Jim 'Crun' Walter still retain their unique mix of charm, skill and intelligence. Here they are as contemporary and fresh as bands half their age with a collection of songs that emphasise their talent for writing memorable melodies and playful, poignant lyrics.

The Scoville Units

The Scoville Units

The Scoville Units were formed at the start of 2009 after Banjo player Leon Hunt was approached by Capercaillie's Donald Shaw to perform a special concert at his Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. Leon had been collaborating with Flook guitarist Ed Boyd for some time, and together they lured the best of the Irish and Bluegrass scenes to join them, namely Mandolin virtuoso Rex Preston, the extraordinary Fiddle-singing Gina Griffin, and the versatile Percussionist Josh Clark. The Scoville Units play an ingenious acoustic blend of Irish and American folk traditions.
