Annalie

Annalie is the eccentric band of singer songwriter Annalie Wilson. Skilfully sidestepping the question 'what sort of music is it?' in favour of more fundamental questions such as 'what time is the last tube?' the band orchestrates her songs with the sounds that seem to fit, from funk to folk via rock, jazz and a bit of classical, sometimes all at once. Annalie's songs are stories, shamelessly honest and characterised by her dark sense of humour and ability to take herself far too seriously, whilst being aware just how ridiculous that is. Cycling, dogs, anoraks and Brazilian trumpet players are some of the cutting edge topics that find their way into her music. Comparisons have been drawn with Regina Spektor, Kate Bush, Ani DiFranco - and perhaps rather less obviously Jarvis Cocker and Leonard Cohen - all of which she is pretty excited about.
