This festive selection of Spanish music, with its dancing rhythms, vibrant instrumental colour, sumptuous textures and contrastingly simple beauty, transports us to the great monastery of Montserrat - the next journey taken by the Paragon Singers’ ever-popular Christmas concerts. Movements from the magnificent 12-part mass by Joan Cererols, maestro de capilla at Montserrat, are at the heart of the programme – characterful music which belies his monk’s calling! Also included are lively villancicos, glorious motets, and a grand, 16 part Venetian-style psalm setting.
