In 1940s war-torn Britain, Arnold Thacker and Billy Langhorn, two disparate and desperate Music Hall comedians performing at a theatre during the Manchester blitz are sitting in their dressing room, waiting to go on stage. In a succulent portrayal of their increasing boredom, their performance explodes into burlesque, improvisation, clowning, music hall, puppetry and dance.
