One of the North West's biggest live music festivals is hosting a Britpop revival, as Whatfest returns for 2009. More than 40 acts are set to take to two stages over the action packed weekend, with 90s heroes The Bluetones and Dodgy, plus Liverpool's China Crisis and local stars The Shallow Call amongst the other names confirmed. Sam Isaac

An acoustic singer/songwriter playing heartbreaking tales of love, family and vulnerability. Counting Bright Eyes, The Spinto Band and Ed Harcourt amongst his influences, young Sam has self-released two mini albums, received glowing reviews and national radio play on Radio 1, 2 and XFM.
