More Information

Cypress Hill

Cypress Hill

Bad boy hip-hoppers with a deliciously wicked sense of humour, Cypress Hill's funky, hip-hoppy 90s material (Insane In The Brain, When The Sh*t Goes Down) has developed a much darker edge these days, with recent rap and metal crossovers gracing Kerrang! on a regular basis.

Super Furry Animals

Super Furry Animals

As Wales' favourite psychedelic popsters, the Super Furry Animals have inspired a whole generation of artists since their emergence in the mid-nineties. Recording in both English and Welsh, they changed the way that many thought about the language, whilst producing some of the finest summery Beach Boys-inspired indie to have surfaced in the last two decades.

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip

The hip-hop/electro duo whose name has been on the tip of everyone's tongues, since the release of their 2007 single Thou Shalt Always Kill. Sounding like a head on collision between The Streets, Goldie Lookin' Chain and Kieran Hebden's Fourtet, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip manage to mix coolness, humour and wry commentry with some highly original material.

Dreadzone

Dreadzone

One of the country's top reggae and dub acts, founded in 1993 by Greg Roberts and Tim Bran. Their debut album 360° set the stage for the follow up, Second Light, to be cited as a favourite of John Peel's and saw them play at Glastonbury just one year after their formation. Continuing to record and release new music, Dreadzone for many years hosted Dubweiser at Notting Hill Arts Club, and subsequently released Once Upon A Time in 2005. Their continued popularity remains a testament to their presence in British music.

Ben Howard

Ben Howard

'There’s not much original territory to be ploughed by singer-songwriters, so you have to admire the innovative, enthralling efforts of Ben Howard, who uses his guitar to build swirling, percussive beats around plaintive plucking and melancholic vignettes' -Kirkham, Red Stripe.
