A galaxy of football heroes and characters are set to take to the stage at Aberdeen’s Music Hall this autumn – courtesy of Scots star Jonathan Watson. As a new football season gets underway, the cult show Only an Excuse? will be at the city venue on Thursday, September 17 with studs sharpened for another uncompromising kick at the beautiful game. With an all-star cast created exclusively by Jonathan Watson, with a script written by Philip Differ, fans can follow the bouncing ball as it bruises egos, bursts coupons and has a late night drink with its pals in a round up of the good, the bad and the just plain mental of the Scottish game. Having their say in Only an Excuse? are football legends like Ferguson, Strachan, Smith, Dalglish and Souness; media giants like Young, White, Nicholas, Cosgrove and Provan; characters like Calderwood, Nevin, Burley, Spence and Laszlo and one-offs like MacAvennie. All will have their say in Only an Excuse?
