More Information

Jarvis Cocker

Jarvis Cocker

Jarvis Cocker was at the heart of the 90s Britpop scene as frontman of Pulp, who released four albums during the decade, most notably 'His 'n' Hers' and 'Different Classes'. One of the 'common people', Jarvis' wry observations on sex, drugs and love and the famous stage invasion during Michael Jackson's performance at the 1996 Brit Awards has safely assured his place in pop's hall of fame. Beyond Pulp, he has directed music videos for Aphex Twin and Nightmares On Wax, and performed under the name Darren Spooner. After several collaborative efforts with other artists, 2006 saw him returning as a solo performer, as well as recording much new material.

Broken Records

Formed in early 2006 as an antidote to work, they have gigged continuously since then, seeing several members come and go from the fold. It is in this vein that Broken Records started, as a loose amalgam of musicians who would play under one banner when not doing their own work.

Emmy The Great

Emmy The Great

Emmy the Great writes songs for her friends. Her friends are all double crossing liars, and some of them are dead. Emmy seems to have come out of nowhere, sharing an aesthetic backdrop with Cat Power and Regina Spektor. A point of note for any audience would be the directness and frankness with which she approaches lyricism, a keen contender on the British anti-folk scene.

With evident touches of The Beta Band, and hints of the Super Furry Animals and rock’n’roll legend Buddy Holly, The Aliens make truly eclectic and innovative music.
