The Young Knives

A three-pronged vocal attack and catchy guitars & drums are the bread and butter of The Young Knives, formerly known as The Pony Club. Quirky, spazzy and poppy, the threesome are as eccentric as they are prolific.

Esser

Replacing regular guitar with samples, Esser's live show is a collection of very slick sampling and huge drum beats with plenty of extra percussion on top. Similar to early Beck in many ways, except replace that American Scientologist drawl with very English punctuation and dry humour and you can see why Esser is causing a stir.

Nine Black Alps

Nine Black Alps

Nine Black Alps have come a long way, as is self-evident in the release of their second album, 'Love/Hate' in August of 2007 on Island Records. Sam, David, James and Martin have promised, apparently, to 'furrow their brows, vent their spleens and bleed their hearts into the production of a glorious technicolour audiophonic dreamscape'. Whether or not they mop up afterwards, it's onwards and upwards for the Manchester quartet.

Detroit Social Club

Detroit Social Club

The most retro sounding band in the UK Indie Charts by far, Detroit Social Club's gospel influenced, folkish rock'n'roll will transport you to a crowded, sun-soaked festival field in the 1970s. A well-baked, analogue sounding group that have been quick to make waves on the UK music scene and are bound to make more.
