More Information

The Fratellis

The Fratellis

Angular, spiky rock'n'roll with a hint of the indie and another hint of the pub. The Fratellis have been accurately described as 'T-Rex crossed with the Libertines' by the Barfly in their hometown of Glasgow. They are a three-piece (Barry, Mince and Jon), utilising the time-tested combination of guitar, bass 'n' drums to create their infectious and energetic rock music.

The Pigeon Detectives

The Pigeon Detectives

The Leeds-based Pigeon Detectives play an exciting blend of rock'n'roll born out of a love for classic rock music and the indie rock of the 1990s. 'Perfect fodder for indie fans who like to jump up and down as if it's 1995, this band's crunching guitar is simple but effective' says Camden Evening News, reflecting quite accurately the Pigeon Detectives' ethos- to play exciting music to packed out venues.

Echo & the Bunnymen

Echo & the Bunnymen

Eighties indie heroes whose majestic songwriting haunted a generation of bedsits and student pads. Re-formed in 1997, and still fronted by the inimitable Ian McCulloch, there's every cause to celebrate the Bunnymen's return.

Etienne De Crecy

One of the finest French producers and DJs in the business who has been involved in the dance music since the early 1990s when he helped to establish Paris firmly on the dance music map.

Florence and The Machine

Florence and The Machine

Florence and The Machine is a one-woman force of bluesy rock with her roots in the same ground as Scout Niblett and PJ Harvey. The music of 20-year-old Florence Welch, sounds rough and ragged, likened to American pre-war folk and blues.

Noah & The Whale

Noah & The Whale

Energetic popsters from London whose proficient songs and live sets employ beautiful harmonies and elements of folk and bluegrass to good effect. Their hit song '5 Years' Time' is sufficient to reel in any potential fan, as their packed-out gigs would suggest.

Howling Bells

Howling Bells

Lurching from blues-fuelled rock to country folk lamentations, Howling Bells produce a sound drenched in warm feedback and dried in the desert sun. Drawing inevitable comparisons to the likes of PJ Harvey, vocalist Juanita Stein's delivery is silky, sultry and utterly intoxicating.

The Twilight Sad

The Twilight Sad

Reclusiveness setting in after just two gigs, Glasgow's The Twilight Sad stayed in the dark until 2005, writing and recording extended pieces of music using any variety of instruments and anything else that would make a sound. An intense, intricate and overpowering sound has since made its way south into England with their signing to Fat Cat records.

Let's Wrestle

North London three-piece Let's Wrestle, comprise of WPG on guitar and vocals, Mike Hankin on bass and Louis Scase on drums. Influenced by the mischievous, surreal humour of David Shrigley and the homespun stylings of anti-folk raconteur Jeffrey Lewis, they sound like a furious amalgam of Swell Maps and ELO.
