Friday, 10 July 2009

Expect a weekend of live musical entertainment coupled with comedy, children's entertainment, street theatre, a theatre tent, art/craft exhibitions, and caterers from around the world providing a variety of meals in a truly festive atmosphere. Other festival attractions include the incredibly popular Farmer Giles' Barn Dance, superb cocktail bars and, as usual, the massive 150 foot long bar means nobody has to wait very long for refreshment! The kids are well catered for too, with the KidZone being by far the best to date with loads of fun, games, theatre and activities, not to mention the face painting! See www.guilfest.co.uk for further information.

Nick Revell

Nick Revell

One of the original alternative comedians of the early 1980s, Nick was nominated for the Perrier award in 1987. He was the resident compere at The Comedy Store for 10 years and in 1989 he had a BBC Radio 4 show and BBC1 TV show, both called 'Nick Revell'. He also wrote for BBC radio classics 'Week Ending' and 'The News Huddlines' along with a host of contributors who included Ged Parsons, Oleg Stepaniuk, Nick & Roger Saunders, Michael Dines and Bob & Barbara Boulton. In 1992 he retired from the comedy circuit, but now he's back with the twin aims of bringing down the George W Bush administration, and paying his monthly mortgage bill.

Andrew Bird (1)

Andrew Bird (1)

Relaxed and improvisatory, Andrew Bird is one of those rare comedians who makes friends with his audiences in an instant. Childlike, witty and incredibly perceptive, ' If the ‘mates chatting down the pub’ style of conversational comedy is your bag, you can’t go far wrong with Andrew Bird.' - Chortle

Steve Williams

More topical than Trevor MacDonald, Steve is one of the tallest guys on the circuit and certainly one of the most original. His Welsh genes allow him to have a totally different aspect on life although he hasn't lost any of the traditional Welsh values, including their fondness for sheep.

For more information, see the website

Isy Suttie

Isy Suttie

Likened to Victoria Wood and Tom Lehrer for her gloriously silly and twisted songs, stand-up and stories. 'Comedy with heart and soul' (Chortle).

Doc Brown (2)

Rap comedian.

Eddy Brimson

Eddy Brimson

Although a comparative newcomer to the circuit, Eddy has been appearing at prestigious venues all over the UK.

Pam Ford

Loud Aussie comic, with a memorable version of the Shania Twain Song 'That Don't Impress Me Much'! Winner of ITV's Take The Mike Award.

David Ward

David Ward

Hugely in demand, David Ward is an upbeat comedian with a cynicism that gives his humour a gentle bite. Quick-thinking and original, he is one of the busiest acts on the international circuit and a huge favourite the world over.
