Kings Of Leon

Tennessean alt-rock group comprised of three brothers and a cousin. The Kings Of Leon take their titles very seriously, producing country-laden rock’n’roll with hints of blues and boogie-woogie. Brought up in the Deep South and having spent most of their childhood’s travelling, the Kings Of Leon (whose name comes from the brother’s father and grandfather) have a deep, drawling, rootsy sound and a suitable legacy to match.

Kaiser Chiefs

Five indie pop kids from Leeds who in less than two years went from self-financing their first single to getting signed by Universal and becoming the darlings of the British music press. The infectious enthusiasm of their music and the unique viewpoint of their lyrics has seen them compared to Franz Ferdinand, Blur, The Clash, and Madness, but their passionately dedicated fans know that this band are true originals.

Their music contains elements of punk and pop, but they aren't pop-punk. Likewise, their songs are emotional and their lyrics can be poignant, but they're certainly not emo. Fall Out Boy incorporate their dark sense of humour within their songs, which abound with clever, biting lines.

Deftones

One of the world's leading nu-metal/rap bands. A Welsh emo outfit whose debut release was mixed and produced by Joe Gibb who has also produced Jane's Addiction, Catatonia and Leftfield. A furious live presence has been winning them fans ever since their first releases in 2002, with appearances including a high profile European tour with Iron Maiden. Alexisonfire

Ontario born screamcore punk band taking their influences from the likes of The Misfits, Dead Kennedys and possibly Michael Jackson, though this may be untrue. Their aggressive sound has earnt them international acclaim and their second album, Watch Out, quickly went gold in Canada.

Sonic Boom Six

SB6 are a group in the tradition of UK punk bands such as The Specials, The Clash and King Prawn that push the musical envelope by mixing contemporary underground sounds of the UK with a rocking live show and educational lyrics. Although there really is no-one else quite like these energetic ragga muffins. Expect a variety, from hiphop beats to summer vibes and skacore riffs, this band have it all.
