More Information

The View

The View

Shimmering indie-rock from this youthful Scottish four-piece. The View make the kind of music that Primal Scream and The Charlatans would be proud of - clashing guitars, swirling melodies, unexpected crescendos and psychedelic vocals. 'At last Scotland finds its own grotty underbelly being given a rabid, celebratory pop summation.' - NME.

Lightning Seeds

Lightning Seeds

Having secured a reputation as one of the most prominent bands of the 1990s, the Lightning Seeds took an 'elongated break' at the end of the decade, Ian Broudie moving largely into production and releasing some solo records of his own. 2006 marks the band's reformation, and festival goers will be re-living the glorious days of 'Jollification' without a shred of disappointment.

The Dykeenies

The Dykeenies

New wave electro indie pop from Glasgow influenced by The Cribs, Bloc Party and The Futureheads. Formed in 2005, The Dykeenies' snappy pop songs brought them to the attention of the Glasgow indie scene and soon after the UK was greeted by their faces in a double page feature in Play Magazine. One to watch.

Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons

West London quartet Mumford & Sons create classic, bluegrass-inspired folkster songs, that has quickly created a buzz across the British media. As peers of Laura Marling and Noah and The Whale, vocalist Marcus Mumford is a wonderfully wise and weathered songwriter in his own right. The band's debut EP, 'Lend Me Your Eyes' was released in July 2008, through Chess Club Recordings.

Kid British

Kid British

Kid British create their own noise by mixing a bit of this with a bit of that and ending up with one big fat manky sandwich. A tasty shank of old school ska and dancehall, a generous twist of indie, a light splash of reggae, and garnished with a juicy slice of electro pop.

The Family Mahone

Neville Staple

Neville Staple

The original rude boy, and one of the undisputed forerunners of the ska movement. Best known for being the lead singer of The Specials, Neville is credited with changing the face of pop music not only once but twice. His biography reads like a who's who of rock. Not only has he worked with such legends as Elvis Costello, David Byrne and Ali Campbell but has also shared the stage with ska icons Rankin Roger (English Beat), forming Special Beat. Although this line up never actually recorded an album, they successfully toured the US with Sting and Steel Pulse before embarking on their own headline tour.

Pearl and the Puppets

Pearl and the Puppets

Pearl is the quietly rebellious leader of this alternative pop four-piece, which includes her backing band The Puppets. Her atmospheric, innocent and quirky songs capture the coming of age spirit while breaking through the barriers of expectation.
