Alela Diane

Alela Diane is a melancholy folk singer/songwriter from Nevada City, California. Straying far from the typical Californian surfer sound, Alela's songs are set against the simple backdrop of an acoustic guitar. Her début EP 'The Pirates Gospel' was released in 2006 to much critical acclaim whilst being made up of simple yet confrontational voice/guitar melodies.

Efterklang

Haunting and evocative alternative electronica from Denmark's Efterklang. Like Sigur Ros, Mum or A Silver Mt Zion before them, their largely instrumental music manages to both inspire and arouse the senses whilst remaining accessible for most. Beautiful stuff.

The band was formed on a whim, the album was recorded on a free wheel but the blood and sweat that went into bringing it all to life are omnipresent in every ounce of music. Howlin’ Rain features: Ethan Miller (singer, guitarist for Comets on Fire) on vocals and guitar, John Moloney on drums and percussion and Ian Gradek on bass guitar and banjo.

Sparrow And The Workshop

Sparrow and the Workshop are a Scottish/Welsh/American 3-piece from Glasgow, formed in the dew of January 2008, under the heavy fog of yeast from the Tennents Factory. They play a stripped-down drumkit, a crashbox, a very white bass, a smallish acoustic guitar, a mellow yellow electric slide guitar and occasionally an old french violin alongside boy/girl vocal duets.
