Ida Maria mixes a dash of a Gallaghar's gob, a sprinkling of Winehouse's recklessness, a splash of Bjork's pixie like chic with a large serving of Chrissie Hynde's musical sensibility, a sizeable slice of her hero Iggy Pop's live performance style, and not to mention a bucket load of infectious material, Ida Maria has all the ingredients necessary to make it Big.

Cut Off Your Hands are influenced by bands such as Buzzcocks and Joy Division, combined with the pop hooks of Hot Hot Heat. Playing an infectious, skittering, art-influenced brand of proto-punk indie rock and bouncing off each other with poptastic melodies, jagged guitars and jerky stop start rhythmic patterns, you'd be encouraged to think of Split Enz unhinged covering Gang of Four songs to get a real idea of the brilliant musical head space this New-Zealand 4-piece occupy.
